Tahiti Pensions , French Polynesia: About them |
Fakarava
Fakarava (Havaiki Nui), in the Tuamotu Archipelago, has been classified as a nature reserve by UNESCO as the rich ecosystem contains exceptionally rare fauna and flora both above and below the water. The 2 passes at either end of the atoll are the main dive sites and are teeming with life, Manta Rays, sharks, barracuda, groupers, loaches, turtles, dolphins and surgeon fish are all plentiful. The waters here are amongst the most pristine and untouched waters of French Polynesia.
Tikehau
Tikehau comprises a series of hundreds of flat islets surrounding a lagoon; it is one of the most stunning islets of French Polynesia, famed for stretching white sands and azure waters. Exquisite dive sites are within the lagoon or at the Tuheiava Pass at the southernmost tip, the pass is renowned for exhilarating drift dives with many pelagics. The lagoon life itself is plentiful and vibrant and was proclaimed by the Jacques Cousteau Society as having the most concentrated population of fish species. |
